In 1972, the acquisition of land on Route 24 on
the Mendham/Chester border and the donation

of two trailers, enabled the school to find its present home at 577 Route 24.

The link between the Dwyer family and the Westmont Montessori School
began its third generation in 1996 when Mr. and Mrs. Dwyer's grandson
became a student. Westmont went on to celebrate its 40th anniversary with
an Open House in 2004. Over 400 people attended, including many of the
alumni, who were enrolled in classes in the 1970s, '80s and '90s.

Over the decades, Westmont has built an impressive history in Montessori
education and in this community. We are proud to say that we are the
second oldest Montessori school in the State of New Jersey, and our future is
brighter than ever.
